Spring Awakening
Friday 4th April 11am – 2.30pm
Intro to Mini Ball Pilates, light lunch, Yoga & Sound Therapy
All around us, signs of spring’s arrival are emerging – buds forming on trees, early flowers pushing through the soil, and the gradual return of birdsong. This reawakening in nature mirrors the stirring of new life within each of us. Just as the Earth is coming alive again after winter’s rest, new possibilities are awakening in our own lives.
Pilates using the Mini Ball is an effective way to help build core stabilisation, adding resistance, boosting the activation of your pelvic floor muscles, challenging balance by adding an unstable surface and engaging the essential muscles that work to stabilise the entire body improving your functioning in everyday activities, posture and strength.
The Mini Ball is especially beneficial for those struggling with back pain helping to build strength gradually providing a little bit of extra reassurance. If you haven’t attended an intro to Pilates class with me don’t worry I will teach you the fundamentals alignment, centring and breath.
During this class we will explore postures that focus on the liver and gallbladder meridian lines (these are energy lines that map the entire body and link to our major organs), which support the body’s natural digestive and detoxification functions. Whilst holding the postures you will be taken on a healing journey through sound and the vibrations of crystal & Himalayan singing bowls and various sacred instruments.
Yin is a slower, softer, meditative style of yoga. We hold yin poses for a longer period of time creating space in the body and in the mind. It is an internal practice both physically and mentally; physically it targets the joints, connective tissue, ligaments and fascia whilst mentally it allows you to really connect with your mind, body and breath.
All props (mats, bolsters, bricks & blankets) are provided unless you prefer to bring your own.
The cost for the afternoon is £55 email becca@becca-mclachlan.com to book.
